OA Projects Campaign Updates

April 30, 2011 – 100 Fair Trade Soccer Balls have been Shipped

VOLO Athletics Fair Trade League Plus Soccer Ball

As most of you know I have been fundraising to send fair trade soccer balls to Gulu, northern Uganda. Thanks to the support of many of you, this will be my second time distributing balls in support of OA Project’s work with the Youth Coalition for Peace. While we have managed to raise enough money to send more than 100 soccer balls, we will be staggering the distribution on an as-needed basis. As such, I am thrilled to announce that 100 fair trade balls are on their way and should arrive shortly.

At this time I want to thank everyone who has contributed to this campaign either in the past or the present, and I encourage you to continue doing so as well as invite others to participate. OA’s work in Uganda is consistent, committed and well-planned. As a result they are making a difference in the lives of young boys and girls as well as the young adults who are mentored to run these camps.

For more insight and photos, check out my earlier blog posts from my visit to Uganda last summer.

Thank you again for your interest and support. Stay tuned for more updates on your donation as the balls arrive in Gulu!

The fair trade soccer balls from our 2011 fundraising campaign have arrived in Gulu! Actually, they got there May and since then, OA Projects has been putting them to good use with girls & boys teams throughout the region.

VOLO Athletics’s 1 for 1 Campaign (you buy one, we give one), in tandem with our GiveMeaning.com cash donation drive, has allowed us to support OA Projects for two years running. We are proud to be able to help them in their work, but could not have done it without the support of our donors.

Thank you!
